Tuesday, 24th of Tammuz, 5774

Tuesday is the seventh day of Week 42 and the forty-ninth day of the cycle of Yesod (Foundation), Malchut shebeMalchut shebeYesod, Kingship within Kingship within Foundation.

Tuesday is also the eighth day of the fourteenth 22-day cycle of the year, related to the letter Nun Sofit (the final Nun). The following verse from Chapter 3 of the Book of Lamentations is connected to the eighth letter, the Chet:

8. [But now] their appearance has become darker than charcoal, they are not recognized in the streets; their skin is shriveled on their bones; it has become as dry as a stick.

ח. חָשַׁךְ מִשְּׁחוֹר תָּאֳרָם לֹא נִכְּרוּ בַּחוּצוֹת צָפַד עוֹרָם עַל עַצְמָם יָבֵשׁ הָיָה כָעֵץ:

This verse can be interpreted positively by applying it to Israel's enemies:

8. [In contrast, the enemies'] appearance was darker than charcoal, they were not recognized in the streets; their skin was shriveled on their bones; it had become as dry as a stick.
