Monday, Rosh Chodesh Av, 5774

Monday is the sixth day of Week 43 and the sixth day of the cycle of Malchut (Kingship), Yesod shebeChesed shebeMalchut, Foundation within Kindness within Kingship. This week also represents the "Shavuot" and "Shivah Yemei Miluim" of the cycle of Yesod (Foundation).

Monday is also the fourteenth day of the fourteenth 22-day cycle of the year, related to the letter Nun Sofit (the final Nun). The following verse from Chapter 3 of the Book of Lamentations is connected to the fouteenth letter, the Nun:

14. The blind stagger through the streets, they are defiled with blood, and none can touch their garments.

יד. נָעוּ עִוְרִים בַּחוּצוֹת נְגֹאֲלוּ בַּדָּם בְּלֹא יוּכְלוּ יִגְּעוּ בִּלְבֻשֵׁיהֶם:

This verse can be interpreted positively as follows:

14. The blind (the enemies) staggered. In the streets, the Jewish people were redeemed with blood, and none could touch (harm) [even] their garments.
