Wednesday, 10th of Av, 5774

Wednesday is the first day of Week 45 and the fifteenth day of the cycle of Malchut (Kingship), Chesed shebeTiferet shebeMalchut, Kindness within Balance/Beauty within Kingship.

Wednesday is also the first day of the fifteenth 22-day cycle of the year, related to the letter Peh Sofit (the final Peh). Although this chapter also has 22 verses, it is not openly an acrostic. However, there is a way to rearrange the verses to form an (almost) perfect acrostic. The following verse (7) from Chapter 5 of the Book of Lamentations is connected to the first letter, the Alef:

7. Our fathers have sinned and are no more, and we have borne their iniquities.

ז. אֲבֹתֵינוּ חָטְאוּ וְאֵינָם וַאֲנַחְנוּ עֲו‍ֹנֹתֵיהֶם סָבָלְנוּ:

This verse can be interpreted positively as follows:

7. Our fathers have sinned and (their sins) are no more, and we have (already) endured their iniquities (and changed, so there is no longer a need for punishment).
