Friday, 19th of Av, and Shabat, 20th of Av, 5774

Friday is the third day of Week 46 and the twenty-fourth day of the cycle of Malchut (Kingship), Tiferet shebeNetzach shebeMalchut, Balance/Beauty within Victory/Endurance within Kingship.

Friday is also the tenth day of the fifteenth 22-day cycle of the year, related to the letter Peh Sofit (the final Peh). Although this chapter also has 22 verses, it is not openly an acrostic. However, there is a way to rearrange the verses. The following verse (3) from Chapter 5 of the Book of Lamentations is connected to the tenth letter, the Yud:

3. We have become orphans and fatherless, our mothers are like widows.

ג. יְתוֹמִים הָיִינוּ וְאֵין אָב אִמֹּתֵינוּ כְּאַלְמָנוֹת:

This verse can be interpreted positively as follows:

3. (We were humble like) orphans and (reached) "nothingness." (He was a) Father of our mothers (because their humility was) like (that of) widows.

Shabat is the fourth day of Week 46 and the twenty-fifth day of the cycle of Malchut (Kingship), Netzach shebeNetzach shebeMalchut, Victory/Endurance within Victory/Endurance within Kingship.

Shabat is also the eleventh day of the fifteenth 22-day cycle of the year, related to the letter Peh Sofit (the final Peh). Although this chapter also has 22 verses, it is not openly an acrostic. However, there is a way to rearrange the verses. The following verse (22) from Chapter 5 of the Book of Lamentations is connected to the eleventh letter, the Kaf:

22. For if You have utterly rejected us, You have [already] been exceedingly wroth against us.

כב. כִּי אִם מָאֹס מְאַסְתָּנוּ קָצַפְתָּ עָלֵינוּ עַד מְאֹד:

This verse can be interpreted positively as follows:

22. For if You have rejected our rejection, You have been exceedingly wroth against our yokes ("Oleinu") [of exile].
Obs: Chapter 5 of Lamentations works as an acrostic if you take the three verses that begin with 'Al, עַל , and apply them as above for the letter Gimmel, Dalet and Samech. Furthermore, for the letter Tet, take the first letter of the second word in verse 13. Also, for those verses for which the first letter appears in more than one verse, use only one verse and take the second letter of the remaining verses.
